Betfred exits online poker service from 19 countries

betfredBetfred senior management have taken the decision to withdraw its online poker operations from 19 countries, citing uncertain ‘regulatory and general licensing processes”.

Betfred currenty operate online poker services using the Playtech owned iPoker Network as its poker platform.

International poker player platform PokerStrategy.com, a poker affiliate/partnership website owned by Playtech broke the news of the operators exit from numerous jurisdictions earlier this week.

The poker news source reports that as of June 9th, Betfred had withdrawn operations from South Africa, Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, Norway, Finland, Belgium, Poland, Bulgaria, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Japan, Latvia, Portugal, Slovakia, Ukraine and Romania.

PokerStrategy.com further reported that all player accounts tracked to the territories would be closed and refunded within a period of 30 days. The operator is yet to make an official comment on its withdrawal from the above mentioned markets
