Betway enhances esports presence with Invictus Gaming deal

Online bookmaker Betway has strengthened its esports presence, inking a deal with the Invictus Gaming (IG) team for the upcoming Dota 2 pro season, including this month’s The International 2018.

Under the terms of the agreement Betway is to have exclusive access to the team for content creation purposes, whilst IG is to also have the bookies logo emblazoned on its Dota 2 jerseys for the duration of the year-long sponsorship.

Representing its first steps in Dota 2, this deal marks a strengthening of Betway’s esports footprint after striking a sponsorship deal for the upcoming CS:GO Major in September.

Betway’s Anthony Werkman commented: “We are delighted to seal this sponsorship deal with Invictus Gaming, which marks our entry into the Dota 2 market.

“A strong brand with a rich history in esports, Invictus Gaming are one of the few teams to win The International, and we are extremely proud to bring them into the Betway family. After seeing incredible success in CSGO, we can’t wait to replicate our market leading content in Dota 2 through this landmark partnership.

Earlier this year, Betway announced five new esports sponsorships, including the CS:GO Pro League and the aforementioned CS:GO Major, as well as sponsoring the Brazilian esports brand MIBR.
