Premier League football returned after another international break, and it was Manchester City who lit up what was otherwise a rather tame gameweek.
Something that was reflected within SBC’s League of Legends, with a number of scores falling some way short of the lofty heights of recent weeks.
Digital Fuel Marketing’s Andy Scott clearly didn’t stick to that script though, top scoring with 80 points and leapfrogging a number of places to third in the overall standings.
Gabriel Jesus and Tammy Abraham leading the way for his side with 13 points apiece; able deputies from Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City and Manchester United also chipped in to help finish the round just 11 points off top spot.
One place and seven points further back is Steve Lang, who followed Scott’s charge up the table towards the summit thanks to a very timely transfer.
His decision to take out Romelu Lukaku and install Jesus as captain was repaid with 26 points of his overall 75.
Fellow City players Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva helped out with nine and seven points respectively, while Spurs’ Christian Eriksen notched a goal to help push his tally along to 11.
Completing the top ten is Philip Chadwick, another big mover after his City and Spurs heavy side recorded 76 points.
With his captain Harry Kane failing to fire and limping along to four points it was team-mates Eriksen (11) and Kieran Trippier (8), along with City trio Jesus (13), Leroy Sane (10) and this week’s top points scorer Raheem Sterling (15) who helped him along to tenth.
This weekend’s Premier League fixtures begin with Friday night football coming from the London Stadium, Brighton and Hove Albion the visitors taking on Slaven Bilic’s West Ham United.
On Saturday all eyes will firmly be fixed on Pep Guardiola and his side, with Burnley the visitors to the Etihad, expectation will certainly be high following the 7-2 drubbing of Stoke.
Super Sunday sees Everton host Arsenal, while Liverpool make the trip to Wembley to face Spurs.
