The partnership saw unprecedented traffic on the opening weekend of last year’s Premier League season with 20 million page impressions and over one million app start-ups.

The Mirror Fantasy Football iTeam app is free for players to download and create their iTeam where they’re able to challenge their friends by setting up private leagues. Mobile users can also take part in head-to-head challenges, join regional mini leagues and enter a range of competitions.

The app features real-time transfers, a live and interactive newsfeed, as well as instant scores and squad news. It has also been announced that Ladbrokes has signed up to be the official betting partner of the app. FiTEuro2016

The Mirror Fantasy Football iTeam app had more than 600,000 unique users during the 2015/16 season and the aim is to break the one million user mark in 2016/17.

The Mirror Fantasy Football iTeam app is being promoted through print and digital channels in The Daily Mirror, Irish Mirror and several leading regional titles, including: Manchester Evening News, Liverpool Echo, Birmingham Mail, The Chronicle, South Wales Echo, Western Mail and Belfast Live.

Phil Shaw, Commercial Director, Fantasy iTeam, said: “We had a really successful first year with The Mirror and we’re thrilled to be continuing our partnership. With Leicester lifting the title, 2015/16 was such a unique season, and that saw a big boost in our player retention numbers.

“It’s now about building on the momentum we’ve already achieved and we’ve got some exciting plans for the Mirror Fantasy iTeam app this season. We’re aiming for one million users across all of our products during the 2016/17 campaign and I’m sure we can deliver that.”

Mark O’Donnell, Head of Betting and Gaming, Trinity Mirror Solutions, added: “Mirror readers absolutely loved Mirror Fantasy Football iTeam last season and it’s great that fans will be able to experience it again for the 2016/17 season.

“Our mobile audience is growing fast on the Mirror, and Fantasy iTeam are the leading mobile fantasy football provider, so we’re a perfect match.

“We’re also delighted to welcome Ladbrokes to the team as our fantasy football sponsor for the Euros and next season. They’re a market leading brand and we look forward to working closely with them.”
