Catena ends CFO hunt appointing Peter Messner as financial lead

Peter Messner – Catena Media

Stockholm-listed industry affiliate marketing network Catena Media Plc has confirmed the appointment of Peter Messner as new Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Messner will begin his CFO tenure on 1 April 2020, taking over the duties and responsibilities currently held by Erik Edeen as Catena Media’s interim financial lead.

A seasoned CFO for digital enterprises, Messner joins Catena’s executive team from Swedish media conglomerate Modern Times Group (MTG), where he served as Finance Director of its fast growth MTGX division.

Updating investors, Catena governance details that it has secured a CFO with extensive experience in leading digital transformation projects and financing diverse media ventures.

Messner maintains prior industry experience having served as former CFO of OnGame Systems, a European poker network sold to Amaya Gaming (Legacy Stars Group Inc) for €15 million in 2012.

The appointment of Messner sees Catena governance end its year-long executive search for a new CFO, following the departure of Pia-Lena Olofsson at the start of 2019.

Messner will be a key stakeholder in the affiliate network’s ongoing transformation strategy led by Catena Chief Executive Per Hellberg, who commented: “With a well-functioning financial infrastructure in place, due to Erik’s contributions, our playing field is now ready to welcome Peter as CFO. His wide-ranging experience in key online media and gaming industries will fortify Catena Media’s operations in the years to come.”
