Toby Oddy – Digital Fuel – Taking innovation by the horns to deliver a profitable service

Marketing agency Digital Fuel will mark this year’s London Affiliate Conference (LAC) by launching a new GDPR compliant acquisition platform for the online gambling sector.

Ahead of the conference, the company’s founder and CEO Toby Oddy spoke to SBC News about the importance of attending high profile trade shows, how the increased regulatory responsibilities have shaped the market, and what he expects to be the industry buzzword for affiliates at the ExCeL.

SBC: How important is Digital Fuel’s presence at industry gatherings such as LAC?

TO: For us, attending LAC is very important. It gives us an opportunity to catch up with our clients, as well as attract new business and build new relationships.

I have always said that Digital Fuel will push the boundaries and take innovation by the horns to deliver a quality and profitable service to our clients. LAC is the ideal place to share this message.

We are now working across the globe in Australia, Hong Kong, UK and the US. This means it is very important to be able to meet our existing and prospective clients in one place, so we can showcase our innovative services.

SBC: Given the increased regulatory responsibilities and levels of compliance placed on affiliates, has entering the market become less attractive?

TO: I would say yes. But it has also made the industry become more responsible and forced to place more focus on the customer’s requirements. This is crucial in the age of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and quite frankly it’s the right thing to do.

SBC: What do you think will be the industry buzzword at LAC 2018?

TO: Anything related to Blockchain and crypto technologies.

SBC: What are your key objectives for this year’s event?

TO: We have five key aims for the event this year: to launch our specialist GDPR-compliant customer acquisition platform and secure a limited number of partners, to increase reach and revenues for our existing clients, to meet new and old industry friends, to see innovation thriving in the gambling industry, and to sink a few beers!
