Tottenham Hotspur might be experiencing a wobble in the Premier League, but their Champions League matches are proving to be a hit on bettingexpert, particularly with odds from Unibet.
Two of the top four matches on the bettingexpert tipster community in November featured Mauricio Pochettino’s side, including their Dele Alli inspired victory over Real Madrid at Wembley and a 2-1 win in Dortmund which saw 22.8% of the tips made on Unibet.
Matchbook and bet365 were once again the biggest challengers to Unibet, with Matchbook edging out the Kindred Group brand for tips made on the month’s biggest match in Naples. The betting exchange accounted for 15.4% of the tips on Manchester City’s thrilling 4-2 Champions League win.
Meanwhile, bet365’s big win came in Italy’s surprise World Cup elimination. The Stoke-based operator attracted 21.8% of the punters, significantly more than the 16.4% for Unibet and 10.9% for Matchbook, as Gianluigi Buffon made a tearful exit from the international stage in Milan.
In a month populated by high profile club and international matches, it was surprising to see that football had suffered another percentage drop on bettingexpert’s list of top sports. The ‘beautiful game’ pulled in 62% – this figure was as high as 75% as recently as August.
As expected, the portion of tennis tips slipped from 10% to 6%, largely because the ATP Tour season ended in London on 19 November. By contrast, basketball experienced a resurgence (19% from 12% in October) to mark the first full month of the 2017/18 NBA season.
