Slow La Liga starters find form in top match on bettingexpert

It has been a tough start to the season for Real Madrid, but the highlight of their 2017/18 campaign so far also doubles up as September’s top match on bettingexpert.

Despite sitting outside of the top four in La Liga after seven games played, the Champions League winners from the last two seasons have been faultless in the competition again this time around, which includes a 3-1 win in the month’s top match at Borussia Dortmund.

20% of the tips posted on the match at the Westfalenstadion came on Unibet, with 8% on Matchbook and 6% on bet365. The same three bookmakers also topped the tree for the second and third biggest matches across the bettingexpert network, which both featured £200 million-man Neymar.

The biggest surprise in the top ten was the inclusion of TonyBet, which accounted for 10% of the tips on Montenegro’s 1-0 win over Romania in qualifying for next summer’s World Cup. Victory at the Podgorica City Stadium left Montenegro seven points ahead of their Eastern European counterparts in Group E.

It was perhaps no surprise to see that tennis lost an 8% share of its tips from last month, given that the Grand Slam season ended just a week into September. Meanwhile, ice hockey was the biggest climber, as the Unibet dominated sport achieved parity with basketball and baseball with 4% of the action.
