Paddy Power set to relaunch Facebook betting app

fbpaddyPaddy Power are set to relaunch its Facebook real money sports betting app, as the bookmaker looks to leverage its Facebook presence and coverage by offering customers the ability to place bets through its Facebook app.The new version of its real money gaming app, will be re-branded ‘Paddy Power  Social’ (previously named ‘Paddy Power In-play app’).

Paddy Power were the first bookmaker permitted by Facebook to operate a real money sports betting app. The operator would launch the first version of its sports betting app for Facebook in 2013, however the operator would soon take down the application from Facebook, with a view to launching a new optimized product for the social media vertical.

Paddy Power Social will include new customer features designed to engage social interaction with Paddy Power followers, these new features include o follow, copy bets, laugh at bets, leave comments and console players after losing bets. The sports betting app will also feature social rewards features such as leaderboards, chat feeds and a heat index which displays how friends have been performing.

Head of Paddy Power Social Ben O’Donnell commented on the pending release of  Paddy Power Social “We are very close but there are just a few bits and pieces left to tidy up, This weekend we plan to contact some of our best customers to test it,”

The Paddy Power Social real money betting app is set to be re-launched this May.
