PMU to Display Live Odds Via TV Scanning

pmuFrench gaming operator Pari Mutuel Urbain will utilise its mobile app to feed live / real time odds to its customers using scanning technology on selected live sporting events. Customers will be able to see live odds by pointing their mobile phones at their digital television sets.

The French operator will be utilizing technology in partnership with televisual technology company – TVTak. Using an information feed of aggregated TV Sport data which will enable PMU to offer real time odds and betting market listings and categories on relevant   sporting events.

PMU have studied its customer trends to design this latest development for their mobile devices. PMU report that 40% of its current customer base already place bets via mobile and tablet devices.

After a difficult start online sports betting in France has begun to find its feet after a difficult start in 2010, the sector recorded a 17% rise in stakes during the third quarter of 2013 to €182m, driven mainly by bets on the country’s Ligue 1 championship and its leading teams such as PSG or Monaco.The sector has also seen its volume of stakes had gone up 22% since the start of the year, and were up “53% in particular on Ligue 1 and PSG, where PMU is betting partner”.
