BetTech Gaming Acquires South African National Manufacturers Licence

bettechIt has been a transformative year for BetTech Gaming and the provider of premium gaming technology solutions has cemented its progress with the receipt of a South African National Manufacturers Licence and the appointment of a highly experienced head of trading.

After a flurry of recent new business wins following the company’s international launch in February 2013, being granted a National Manufacturers Licence significantly broadens opportunities for domestic partnerships.

BetTech can now work with operators from across South Africa, regardless of which gambling board they are regulated by – previously it was limited to working with clients from the Western Cape Province, where it is headquartered in Cape Town, or those located outside of South African borders.

And BetTech has strengthened its trading team by bringing in Mike Shea from leading international iGaming operator Sportingbet.

“From our international launch to prestigious awards nominations and client wins – 2013 has already been a landmark year for BetTech Gaming,” said BetTech Gaming co-founder and international CEO Mark Bosman.

“Now we are really taking things to the next level. The National Manufacturers Licence opens many doors domestically for brands looking to launch or outsource a sportsbook, while the appointment of Mike, who brings with him a wealth of knowledge and skills, underlines our commitment to quality,” he added.

Shea was previously horse racing trading supervisor at Sportingbet and held roles at Hollywood Sports Book and World Betting Exchange. The South African will play a vital role in the development of the company’s flagship product, BetTech Sports, and devise and oversee trading strategies for clients of the recently-released Fully Managed Solution (FMS).

Allowing partners to launch a sportsbook within a month, FMS is a turnkey service that provides a fast and hassle-free entry to the burgeoning egaming market.

“I come from a sporting family and with my father being a jockey I’ve got horse racing in the blood,” said Shea.” My career in betting and gaming has taken me from South Africa to the UK and the Channel Islands. Now I am very excited to be back home and part of the BetTech team that is revolutionising the industry.”

In compliance with National Gambling Board guidelines, BetTech offers local and international pre-match and live sports and horse racing betting markets to the South African market.

Regulation permitting, clients operating outside South Africa can offer players a wider variety of BetTech products, thanks to integrations with leading international third parties. This includes virtual wagering alongside a selection of web and mobile casino and interactive games.
