Cornish hotelier hoping for £60,000 Trump

trumpWilliam Hill will be paying over £60,000 to a Cornish Hotelier if Donald Trump wins the US Presidential Election.

John Mappin has staked a series of bets – the most recent one of £1538.46 is the biggest, placed at odds of 13/2 on today – which will result in a £60,000+ payout if the one-time 150/1 outsider ends up in the White House.

William Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe commented: “Mr Mappin is the biggest backer of Donald Trump at the moment, although we do also have a Canadian client who has bet £4000 on him as well. We are very wary of long-odds political gambles after Jeremy Corbyn was backed from 200/1 to odds-on favourite to become Labour leader.”

Trump is now third favourite to enter the White House next with William Hill at a revised 11/2. The hot favourite is Hillary Clinton at 4/5 with Republican front-runner Marco Rubio available at 7/2. Chris Christie, the governor of New Jersey and the most likely candidate to greenlight online gambling laws after what he achieved in his state, is a lengthy 33/1 to become the next president.
