Dutch incumbent operators form ‘Netherlands Gaming Platform’

hollandigamingMirroring UK betting operator’s creation of industry watchdog and best practice body, ‘The Senet Group’ incumbent operators in the Netherlands have created the ‘Netherlands Gaming Platform’ (NKP).

The new body will aim to work with Dutch regulators, in order to oversee the best standards reached in advertising and promotion of online gambling products.

The proactive move by pending Dutch license operators will seek to create better communications between the Dutch regulator and betting firms, improve Dutch licensed operational and marketing standards and raise awareness of gambling risks to Dutch consumers.

By creating the standards body, incumbent online gambling operators hope to enhance their relationship with the Dutch political parties, as the Netherlands Parliament is set to approve the finalisation of the country’s Gambling Act.

Dutch licensed national operators the Dutch Lottery, Nederland Charites Lottery, Lotto NL, Holland Casino and Sportech Racing have been included as founding members of the ‘Netherlands Gaming Platform’.

The gambling body has begun to implement operator operational and marketing requirements, which will include, Play consciously’ logo on advertising inventory, monitoring of high risk products and centralised self-exclusion systems for consumers.
