Betway becomes title sponsor of World Snooker Blackpool events

Online sports betting operator Betway has continued its coverage expansion by announcing that it has become title sponsor of World Snooker events, The Shoot-Out and World Seniors Championship.

Betway agreed sponsorship terms (undisclosed by parties) with Snooker’s governing body, which will see the sports betting operator promoted at  the Blackpool Tower.

The deal marks Betway’s first move into snooker sponsorship, the operator already has a number of commercial agreements in place across other sports in the UK market.

World Snooker Chairman Barry Hearn said: “We are thrilled to welcome Betway on board for two events which have become firm favourites on the snooker calendar.

“The World Seniors is a fabulous celebration of snooker and great fun for the players and fans. And the Shoot-Out is all about dealing with the pressure of the shot clock and getting the crowd on your side. Both events make riveting viewing for fans lucky enough to have a seat in the arena, and those watching live on Sky.

“It’s going to be a fascinating week at one of Britain’s best venues for sporting events, and alongside the Betway team we’re look forward to enjoying every minute.”
