Martin steps down as CEO of 666Bet

Barry Martin CEO of sports betting operator 666Bet has resigned from his position leading the UK betting market newcomers.

The news of Martin’s decision to relinquish the operators CEO position was first reported by industry news source EGR Magazine on Friday 22 January. EGR Magazine reports that Martin has decided to take up a new consultancy role under KPI Gaming Consultants, Martin will continue to advise the company on operational matters.

Martin leaves 666Bet having joined the company in 2013, Martin lead the operators entry into the UK betting market launching a multi-media campaign with QPR manager Harry Redknapp ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Martin’s period as CEO of 666Bet has seen much activity, as the operator looked to establish itself in the competitive UK online gambling market.

In September 2014, Martin and 666Bet completed the acquisition of DMG igaming subsidiary brand Metro Play, in order to expand the operator’s presence into the UK online and mobile casino market. Additionally in the month, the operator further announced that it would open an Asian betting division in Taipei City.

In December 666Bet announced that it had completed its migration from Novigroup igaming services to the BetConstruct platform.

666Bet declined to comment on the departure of Martin as CEO.
