Betclic Everest closes Gibraltar operations ahead of Malta merger

gibraltarFollowing its July corporate strategy review French sports betting operator Betclic Everest will close its Gibraltar operations and relocate business functions to its Malta based operational centre.

The sports betting operator ran Betclic sports trading and administrative operations from Gibraltar. It was strongly presumed that the operator would close its Gibraltar operations, in favour of merging its business operations with its Malta operations which currently supports +200 staff.

At the start of 2014, Betclic Everest senior management undertook a corporate review of its igaming operations focusing on improving customer support, IT infrastructure, sports trading and administrative functions.

Following its operational migration to Malta, the igaming operator will support three operational offices; Malta for igaming services and operations, London for sales and marketing, Paris for group corporate governance and strategy.

Betclic Everest management stated that it would offer relocations offers to Gibraltar staff members who wished to continue with the operator.

The news of Betclic Everest departure from Gibraltar follows reports that igaming operator Mansion is set to migrate its Gibraltar operations to Bulgaria.
