Curacao based Momaco has acquired the player database of bankrupt sports betting broker BetButler.com for the sum of £1.

The investment company reported that it was currently studying the potential launch of a British facing sports betting product in the coming months.

BetButler had ceased trading on September 1, as the management of the financially stricken operator looked for new investment.

Speaking to igaming industry news source EGR Magazine Momaco spokesperson Mark Craig confirmed that the firm had completed the acquisition for the nominal fee. Momaco will gain approximately details of approximately 68,000 customers.

As part of its databse acquisition terms, Momaco will refund all BetButler customers in full. Momaco did not disclose how much was owed to customers by BetButler.

Craig stated that the firm would look to apply for a Gambling Commission licence in order for Momaco to launch a sports betting product. The firm has retained the option to operate the BetButler brand, however Craig stated that the decision to use the brand would be highly unlikely.
