The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) has announced the appointment of Simon Ip as new company Chairman, replacing outbound Brain Stevenson who announced his retirement.
Ip takes over as Chairman having been with the betting operator since 1973. Simon Ip has served HKJC in several senior management positions, helping the operator restructure its legal operating framework and corporate governance. Lp was voted to the Board in 1999.
Ip will be joined by new Deputy Chairman Anthony Chow. HKJC stated that both board members would serve a minimum of three year terms before revision of the company’s board, which would be set for 2017 Annual General Meeting.
Ip said he looked forward to continuing this good work in the year ahead.
“It is going to be a very exciting year for the Club as we celebrate our 130th Anniversary of serving the Hong Kong community. We shall continue to achieve excellence in our operations and to elevate still further Hong Kong’s high standing in world racing,”
We want the Club to continue making a positive contribution to Hong Kong society, just as it has done these past 130 years.
