Fred Done selects Injured Jockey Fund as the Betfred Charity of the Year

betfredFred Done owner of UK sports betting and gambling operator Betfred has plans to raise £2.2 million for the Injured Jockey Fund (IJF).

The money raised from Betfred donations will be used for the creation of Jack Berry House, an injury centre in Malton North Yorkshire which will focus on the rehabilitation of injured jockeys.

The injury centre is currently under construction with support from the IJF, Done has announced that the charity will become Betfred’s charity of the year, with Betfred set to make several donations in the coming months.

Initial fundraising ideas will include a race day and a Betfred sportsman and celebrity dinner, Betfred retail outlets will also display donation boxes for the Charity.

Betfred founder Fred Done said: “Jack Berry is a legend in my opinion and I hope we can help him reach his goal of building this fantastic facility in the North of England.

“Jockeys are the bravest sportsmen and women out there, putting their lives on the line every day. I’m proud to support Jack Berry House.”

Jack Berry, vice-president of the IJF, said: “I’m delighted Betfred has picked us as its official charity and I would personally like to thank Fred Done. His support and that of the Betfred team means a lot.”
