There is speculation that Fruity King, a mobile gaming casino firm, are in contention to replace Magners as the shirt sponsors of Celtic FC. It was believed that the club’s international betting partner Dafabet was poised to extend its partnership with the Hoops.
On Saturday The Drum reported that Fruity King had reportedly been in touch with the Glasgow club to agree what would be the largest sponsorship deal in Scottish football.
The article references James Smith, Head of Marketing and Partnerships at Fruity King who said: “Celtic are a massive club with a huge global fan-base. We’re eager to close what could potentially be the biggest sponsorship deal in Scottish football.”
It was also reported that he told Winner Sports, that broke the story late last week, that Fruity King “had the budget to compete with anyone” and that the company is “in talks with several partiers regarding sponsorship deals.”
Dafabet, which is based in the Phillipines, has shirt sponsorship agreements in place with both Blackburn Rovers and Sunderland and it was believed that a five year deal was close to being signed to make the company Celtic’s new main sponsor.
