666bet’s England promotion could cost £5m

666Bet.com, which launched just over a week ago, is staring down the barrel of a £5 million payout if Roy Hodgson’s England side come back from Brazil with the World Cup trophy.

The new bookmaker offered its first 1966 customers astonishing odds of 1966/1 for England to win the tournament to a maximum stake of £1. That alone will result in a £3,865,156 return to punters and since the limit was reached 666Bet were offering 66/1 about The Three Lions up until midday Thursday 12th June. No other bookmaker is currently quoting England at bigger than 28/1.

Barry Martin, CEO of 666Bet.com, said: “The response we’ve had to our 1966/1 offer has been phenomenal – and rightly so. It’s the most generous offer I’ve ever seen and we’ve also had huge interest in our 66/1 England price.

“We’re a team of big England fans and we’ll be cheering on Roy’s Boys throughout the tournament. Although it’s fair to see it will be squeaky bum time if we make it to the semi-finals, with the prospect of paying out £5million, but as a patriot I still want us win. I just can’t help myself!”
