Best Holiday

It wasn’t so much a holiday, but more of a mini gap-year for four months after I graduated from University. I visited all of the classic cliché countries and I’d have to say that Vietnam was by far my favourite; it’s still so untouched compared to its neighbours, the landscape is beautiful and not to mention the amazing cuisine on offer as well.

Best Album

Morning GloryOasis (What’s The Story) Morning Glory without a shadow of a doubt. Call me sad but it’s tune after tune and an album that has stood the test of time.

Best Film

The Darjeeling Limited is one of my all time favourites. All Wes Anderson films are kooky classics but it’s Darjeeling that I like best; I can put it on at any time of day and it never fails to raise a smile.

Best Sporting Experience

I wish I could say Sheffield Wednesday being promoted to the Premier League in May 2016… but sadly the dream that Carlos had turned out to be a nightmare! My first ever visit to Aintree was a pretty memorable occasion when my beloved Teaforthree finished third. The Grand National is such a special day and a truly spectacular sporting occasion, it’s ingrained in British culture and everyone should try and head there at least once in their lifetime.

Best Book

I adored Roald Dahl’s George’s Marvellous Medicine when I was a child, I would read it over and over and over, and not because I had a nasty Grandma that needing teaching a lesson! Sadly my young dreams of becoming a Doctor and making my own medicine never materialised, though that’s probably a good thing in hindsight!

Best Bet

Teaforthree romping home first past the post in the four-miler at the Festival in 2012. I backed him Ante-post at 14/1 and gave him as my Cheltenham pick in a meeting with plenty of directors in attendance, so I was extra nervy by the start but thankfully years later I’m still revelling in the glory.
