Betfair has announced the appointment of Chief Operating Officer Mark Brooker as its new Executive Director of the operator.
Brooker has held the role of Chief Operating Officer since April 2014. Brooker joined Betfair in March 2010 and was previously Managing Director of the Company’s Sportsbook division and Corporate Development Director.
Prior to Betfair, Brooker spent 17 years working in investment banking advising UK companies on equity capital raising and M&A, most recently at Morgan Stanley and before that at Merrill Lynch. Mark will continue to be based in the Company’s Dublin office in his role as Chief Operating Officer, with managerial responsibility for operations outside of the US.
Betfair confirmed that Brooker would continue his day to day role as Chief Operations Officers, leading strategic development and managerial responsibilities for Betfair’s European business operations.
The appointment sees Brooker become the operators first Executive Director. Brooker is set to take up the role on 21 June, he will be based between Betfair’s Dublin and London offices.
