The UK’s Gambling Commission is starting the process of finding a replacement for chief executive Jenny Williams, whose second five-year term in charge of the regulator will come to an end next year.
Chairman Philip Graf has been contacting industry operators and trade bodies informing them of the plans to search for an new Executive to head up its operations.
Williams, who joined the regulator in its previous guise as the Gaming Board, will still oversee the opening months of the UK new online gambling framework and implementation of the Point of Consumption Tax.
Williams will also play a significant part in the search and selection for her successor.
Graf has commended the work of Williams, noting the progress the UKGC had achieved under her leadership and describing her as a ‘hard act to follow’.
