Lorne Weil steps down from Sportech board

Sportech PLC has announced that Lorne Weil has resigned from the operators board with immediate effect.  The announcement comes as the operator is set to undertake a corporate re-alignment of senior management responsibilities.

Sportech confirmed that Weil, will remain in contact with the company in an advisory position, as the operator undertakes its re-alignment and looks for his replacement.

Weil, joined Sportech as Non-Executive director in October 2010 having served as the former Chief Executive and Chairman of gaming software provider Scientific Games.

Roger Withers, chairman of Sportech, commented : “Lorne has been an important contributor to the board and, as a leading figure over many years in the gaming and technology industries in the United States, we look forward to his continued involvement as a consultant.”
