Bookmaker suspends market on Turner for Bond

Irish bookmaker Boylesports suspended its markets on Aidan Turner to be named as the next James Bond yesterday, following a flurry of betting. Aidan_Turner_bearded

The 32 year old Irish star of Poldark has been amongst the favourites for some time but the last two days has seen an unexpected surge in betting in Dublin.

The official announcement is expected next week with other actors including Tom Hiddleston, Tom Hardy and Idris Elba long having been in the frame. The hubbub and rumours around this popular entertainment market saw Coral close betting on Hiddlestone one month ago.

Liam Glynn from BoyleSports told the Irish Mirror: “The next James Bond market was all one way traffic for Aidan Turner over the past 24 hours and punters could not get enough of him.”

“It now looks like the deal may well be done and dusted after we laid a four figure bet on Turner in one of our South Dublin shops.

“We are going to take a hit on Turner if he manages to succeed Daniel Craig so our traders have had no choice but to suspend the market as it seems that a MI6 agent may well know a secret that we don’t just yet.”

Turner is now priced at 1/5 to be named the next Bond after Boylesports reopened the market today.
