6 of the Best – Oulala’s Valery Bollier

BollierBetITBest‘s Nico Jansen is interested in discovering the best in people. This week it’s Valery Bollier.

Valery Bollier is the Co-Founder and CEO of Oulala, a European fantasy football operator based in Malta.

The company, which launched in 2013, has partnerships with Leicester City, Media365 and Orange. It uses stats provided by data supplier Opta and allows users to build their team from the four major European leagues as well as offering a live coaching option. Both free and paid contests are available with Oulala.

Best Holiday

I went on a very intense safari in Tanzania and Botswana with my family. It was amazing and in a few years, most of the amazing creatures we saw may have disappeared. Our children will probably be the last generation to witness a world where nature was not completely dominated by humanity.

Best Album

Otis Redding’s The Dock of the Bay. Redding was a very talented soul artist who died too young in a plane crash in 1967. He influenced many of the biggest artists of the 1970s, such as Mick Jagger, for example. His song, “The dock of the bay” is a jewel!

Best Film

This has to be the classic that is Citizen Kane by Orson Wells. As Spinoza said, “Our impression of freedom comes from the fact that we cannot recognize our own chains”. The story of Kane offers us a great lesson; that our childhood wounds define and determine us including our successes and even our tendencies towards happiness! Citizen Kane provides a remarkable starting point for introspection.

Best Sporting Experience

Zidane France 981, 2, 3 – 0. One sporting event that stands out above all others for me, is the football World Cup Final in 1998 at the Stade de France. The party on the Champs Elysées that followed France’s victory against Brazil helped cement its status in my memory. I’ve never experienced so many people coming together with such joy as through that event.

Best Book

Man’s Search For Meaning, which is a book by Viktor Frankl, the founder of logotherapy. This book is possibly the biggest slap in the face wake-up call that anyone will receive from reading! Frankl survived Auschwitz and his testimony is an amazingly positive invitation to use our freedom to build a meaningful life. The book is packed with great life lessons.

Best App

My Up3 bracelet app; thanks to this innovative creation, I can receive remarkable information about my sleep phases. Data on the paradoxical phase, where you dream and rest your mind, and the deep sleep, where you rest your body, is particularly interesting to obtain. We are spending almost a third of our life asleep. Thanks to this app, I am currently learning how to optimize my nights.
