Manchester City and Argentina football international Martin Demichelis, has accepted an FA charge relating to twelve counts betting misconducts.

Demichelis (35), is alleged to have committed multiple breaches to FA Rules E8 concerning matches played between January 22-28 of this year.

Rule E8 was introduced by the FA during the 2014/15 season, with a view of preventing players, coaches and associated stakeholders from betting on any football activity.

The FA informed the media, that there was no suspicion that Demichelis was involved in any form of match fixing, nor betting on the outcome of Manchester City matches.

The governing body of English football will now move to set a date for Demichelis to learn of punishment, with a fine believed to be the most likely outcome.

Manchester City governance have made no official comment on Demichelis’ charges and betting breaches.

The Argentine international is expected to be in tonight’s Manchester City squad , for the Champions League  quarter-final first leg tie against Paris Saint-Germain.
