Tipsters at Bettingexpert.com were licking their wounds this week after the most fancied team in the Champions League Qualifiers failed to deliver. Swiss side Basel were the most tipped side on 12X betting by the bettingexpert tipster network, but succumbed to a last minute Maccabi Haifa goal which secured a surprise 2 – 2 draw.
Despite this, 59.1% of CL playoff tips posted on the website were successful this week.
The most popular bet type was the usual 3way-betting (28%), over/under (21%), and surprisingly, both to score-bets at a third place 11%.
The average odds for the tips were a lofty 3.05, and were especially high on the match between Skenderbeu and Dinamo Zagreb with an average odds of 4. Many tipsters went for over 3.5 or 4.5 goals in the match, as the odds were pretty high at 4.0 and 9.0 respectively.
Bettingexpert’s Gavin Moore commented: “The most profitable match for the bettingexpert tipsters was in the match between Sporting Lisbon and CSKA Moscow, as 36% of all bets on that match either for both to score or a Sporting Lisbon home win. Both bet types had odds around 2, doubling the stakes for the bettingexpert tipsters.
“It seems the best advice for people following our football tipsters at the moment is to stay conservative and don’t go for the exotic bet types. 3way-betting was definitely the most profitable bet type, and it did most certainly help that very few matches ended with a draw.”
