Denmark state-owned gambling operator Danske Spil has confirmed the appointment of Susanne Mørch Koch as its new Chief Executive Officer.

The operator ends its search for its replacement of Christian Madsen, who announced his departure as CEO this June following a 12-year leadership tenure with Danske Spil.

Having been approved by the Danske Spil board, Mørch Koch will now work with Madsen implementing a transition period, with the new CEO expected to take on full leadership responsibilities by April 2017.

Mørch Koch joins Danske Spil, having served as Chief Commercial Officer of Danish railway operator Danske Sverige AB (2013 – 2016). An experienced executive Mørch Koch has worked and advised on multiple Danish private and state-owned enterprises working with government and public stakeholders.

The leadership appointment of Mørch Koch follows the H1 speculation of the potential sale of Dansk Spil assets by ruling conservative-liberal party Venstre.

Commenting on her appointment, Mørch Koch told Danish business news sources that she was excited to be joining the gambling operator and that she would look to implement an ambitious 2020 strategy.
