Sports betting supplier SBTech has been granted a B2B Class 2 Software Provider License by the National Gambling Office in Romania.

Romania is the latest regulated European market to license SBTech, which allows the company to continue expanding its existing portfolio of awarded permits in numerous regulated markets such as UK, Ireland, Portugal, and more.

Localised sportsbook offerings and unrivalled industry knowledge have enabled SBTech to become one of the first sportsbook providers for regulated operators in Romania. SBTech is powering its leading sports-betting offering in Romania with Netbet.ro.

Richard Carter, CEO of SBTech, commented: “Increasing the number of regulated markets in which we operate is a key part of the SBTech strategy and I am delighted that we are entering the Romanian market, having met the high standards set by the ONJN.”

He added: “We look forward to delivering our award-winning Sportsbetting solutions to existing and future operators in the regulated Romanian market.”

Carter became SBTech CEO in February of this year having previously been at Deutsche Bank.
