Team Betsafe has participated in the Gumball 3000 Rally for years now but this time around it’s stepped things up a gear by bringing an F1 car to select locations.
This year’s route features two new locations, with the journey from Dublin to Bucharest and the bookmaker’s BGF1, as seen below, will be on hand. The rally got underway in Dublin on May 1st and will end on May 7th in Bucharest. Today the cars should be going through Germany and the Czech Republic.
A number of celebrities are involved in this year’s event including David Hasselhoff, Tony Hawk and, seemingly unfairly, David Coulthard. Calum Best also got involved with Team Betsafe in London this week. The drivers go through 11 countries and over 3000 miles in seven days, and you can follow their progress on Twitter via #Gumball3000.
This scheme is yet another example of Betsafe’s bold and brash approach to marketing and brand promotion. Its offered customers the opportunity to be a part of the race and join the closing party in Romania on May 7th.
As part of its ten year anniversary Betsafe also announced another inviting prize recently; a stay in the Betsafe Apartment in Stockholm which may well be the world’s greatest apartment for a sports fan.
