Betsson’s Peter Weinreich Johansen appointed as DOGA Chairman

Trade association The Danish Online Gambling Association (DOGA) has confirmed the appointment of Betsson Denmark Managing Director Peter Weinreich Johansen as its new Chairman.

Johansen will replace the outgoing Martin Thorvaldsson as chairman, after being voted last week by DOGA members at the organisation’s annual general meeting.

DOGA is the trade organisation of the Danish online gambling industry and includes the following members: Ladbrokes, Unibet, Betfair, bet365, Betsson, Pokerstars, SkillOnNet, Spillehallen.dk, Dansk Underholdning and TivoliCasino.

Johansen will maintain his position as Managing Director of Betsson Denmark alongside his chairmanship of the DOGA trade association. Johansen has further served as Executive Committee member of Danish Online Gambling Association -doga.dk

The DOGA governance stated that the appointment of Johansen was a move in the right direction as its new chairman had an excellent understanding of the Danish igaming market. Johansen was the best candidate to handle the multiple interests of diverse stakeholders within the trade organisation.
